Sandy has a most gentle nature and is a very quick learner. She has great manners and is in care with a family and their dog.
Sandy will wait for her food and will eat only on command. She will let you remove her bowl and handle her whilst she is eating.
Sandy will 'sit' and 'down' with a command and will sit at the door when asked, to let her hmans through first, then follow with the 'okay' command.
She loves a car ride and will wait for you to put her leash on before exiting the vehicle.
Sandy is fine with kids and all other dogs she has met She will be fine in a home with or without another dog. She has not been tested with cats but we feel she may enjoy the chase of older cats, but may be fine with kittens as she adores young puppies and small dogs.
Sandy is learning to walk on the leash with the use of a gentle leader head collar. She can become excitable around other dogs (due to being on a leash) but has improved on this immensely since being in care.
She has attended dog training and is making good progress with her skills and socialisation and would benefit from further classes to improve on her re-call and leash skills.
Sandy is fine as an outdoor or indoor dog, although, like most dogs, would prefer to cuddle up on the couch with you. She is calm indoors.
Sandy recently went on trial on a rural property but unfortunately she paid far too much interest in the kangaroos and the bush area is baited, so sadly she has been returned. The family that returned her are devestated and describe her as the most gentle and loving girl.
